Visit Pampus and experience a unique piece of Unesco World Heritage
The fortress island Pampus is full of stories, going back to the VOC era, when ships from the East on their way to Amsterdam anchored for Pampus. Later on the island Pampus got a new task, in the defense of the city of Amsterdam. Nowadays the Fort Pampus opens to the public so they can hear these and other exciting stories of Pampus’history.
Pampus is part of the “Stelling van Amsterdam”. On the island you can find your own route through all the rooms and corridors in the fort itself. In the fort there is a multimedia and interactive ‘Pampus Experience’ which tells you the history of the Island.
Pampus is situated at about a 30 minutes sail from Muiden and gives a nice break from your cruise .
